We hereby invite you – the Creative Genius you are – to form collaborative, local teams of students and graduates in the following disciplines:

Make up
Hair-styling
Editing and Special Effects
Production
Acting and Modeling
– and to submit your Fashion Film for consideration in the South African Emerging Creative Talent Award for Mercedes-Benz Bokeh 2017!
Use all the resources you have at your disposal, to the best of your ability, and deliver an amazing Fashion Film. Take advantage of professionals in your own networks who can mentor you and assist in your film (but please don’t allow them to take over or hijack your project – they should be there to assist you and offer advice, guidance and resources where possible).
The Fine Print (guidelines):
First you will need to submit your pitch/treatment to us.

*Please note this category is only open to Residents Of South Africa.
The submitted Fashion Film is to be 90 seconds long.
As all Fashion Films in a competition need some direction, the entered films MUST include ALL of the following shots:
- A CLOSE-UP of an eye.
- A SLOW MOTION shot or TIME LAPSE shot.
- A shot of a prominent LAND MARK in your city.
These shots are all open to your own interpretation but must ALL be included in the final film.
Shoot Dates to be between the 1st October and the 30th November 2016 TBC
The shoot is to be a single day only.
Bokeh will supply a single 4K Camera for all shoots. All films are to be shot on the supplied camera at 4K.
The film is to be edited and delivered in 4K via We transfer or Drop Box. We will specify codecs at a later date.
Bokeh can possibly supply limited assistance with the following upon approval:

As all the films in this category may be featured with Fashion One both Internationally and on DSTV Channel 178, we will require release forms for all cast, locations and music – for all films.

Experimental (be careful here – don’t alienate the judging panel – don’t be too weird – and make sure you exclude all models wandering in nature looking at their reflections or leaves!)

Do NOT produce a Look Book Fashion Film or a Fashion Show Backstage Fashion Film!
The Treatment:
The Treatment is to include Style, Locations and Shot Lists.
Please also include your Equipment and Gear wish lists, and other fashion/film references.
We will require a breakdown of your entire crew and cast. Please include EVERYONE including the designers and filmmakers.
On approval of the final films, we will start the shoot and edit process directly with you.
We are happy to meet and look at your proposals before you submit them.

The Subject should read : Emerging Creative Award/Treatment
Bokeh will appoint the judges, and the Winning Designer will receive the Official Trophy.
The winning team is to share the R 50 000 prize equally to all members who did not get remunerated during the shoot.
All selected films are to be shown at Bokeh 2017!
